We are volunteer run, not-for-profit LGBTIQA+ community festival

Canberra SpringOUT Association Inc is a volunteer run, not-for-profit LGBTIQA+ community festival organisation established in 1999.

We support LGBTIQA+ people in Canberra and the surrounding region by affirming the experiences and identities of our community by providing a Pride Festival of events and celebrations every November.

The Association seeks to encourage LGBTIQA+ individuals and groups to explore, develop and express their energy, talent, skills and potential. Our vision is to empower LGBTIQA+ people to find their voice, take up space and showcase their art, sport, events and culture, creating a more connected community through participation and opportunity.

Your Support is vital

Membership is an integral part of Canberra SpringOUT Association Inc. It is essential to the governance, development, sustainability and continual improvement of our organisation. Strong community support is vital in order for the organisation to perpetuate the success and growth of the SpringOUT Pride Festival, Canberra.

As a SpringOUT member, your support contributes to the organisation’s mission, its values and its voice. SpringOUT relies on community participation, coalition building and creating space for everyone, reflecting the diversity of our community and the vibrancy of our city. SpringOUT Pride Festival, Canberra can and does have a positive impact LGBTIQA+ people who often experience barriers the general public arguably take for granted, such as participating in sport, attending events and connecting with community.

SpringOUT has a strong presence on social media, however, following our pages differs greatly from becoming a financial member of Canberra SpringOUT Association Inc. As a member, you become part of the organisational framework which brings with it, benefits and responsibility.

Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting

Held in April/May each year, at the Annual General Meeting we elect committee members and important appointments such as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. You may also nominate yourself.

Invitations to MEMBERS ONLY events

The opportunity to purchase pre-sale festival event tickets.

As a SpringOUT member, you can also become a SpringOUT volunteer.

But most importantly

Knowledge you are contributing to the development and success of Canberra SpringOUT Association Inc, the SpringOUT Pride Festival and its core values of providing cultural opportunities for LGBTIQ+ people in the Canberra and surrounding region.
