Pink Tennis invites you to celebrate the 40th anniversary of bushdance.
We have had a wonderful time for the last 40 years and here’s hoping for 40 more.
The Bushdance has been an annual gay Canberra event since 1984. It is held at the Yarralumla Woolshed which is an original shearing shed still with the not unpleasant lingering smell of lanolin from the wool. Despite being located close to the geographic centre of Canberra, the Woolshed has a very country feel with no sign of the city around it.
There is a live bush band with a caller who explains how to do the dances. These are very popular and the dance floor is always full. There is an onsite bar and an outdoor area for cooling down, getting something to eat and chatting.
This is one of Canberra’s most popular and largest gay events. It is part of the Canberra SpringOUT Pride Festival. To comply with liquor licensing and maximum occupancy limits, there is a limited number of tickets available.
