The LGBTIQ+ Ministerial Advisory Council invites you to their annual Think Tank – an interactive session with inspirational speakers.
We will be looking at combating LGBTQ+ conversion practices in a human rights context in the ACT.
We will be updated about progress in the ACT by
- Minister for Mental Health – Shane Rattenbury
- ACT Discrimination Commissioner – Karen Toohey
- Psychologist – Dr Tushara Wickramariyaratne
- Chris Csabs, Advocate and Survivor of conversion practices in the ACT will also discuss his experiences
We will look at the ACT government plans for banning the practices in the ACT and discuss this in a human rights context.
We will also examine conversion practices from the past and the present day and the effect these have had on individuals and LGBTQ+ communities.
If you want a better understanding of conversion practices and how the ACT proposes to address them. Each speaker will talk for about 5 minutes then we will have a Q & A style panel.
You will be sitting on table of 7 ~ 8 people with plenty of time for questions and discussions.
